Danielle L. Pener is an experienced employment attorney who has represented and counseled employers for her entire career. Ms. Pener works with clients from various industries including retail, technology, manufacturing and distribution, hospitality, start-ups, and professional service firms. She provides her clients with individualized, business-minded service and partners with them to create comprehensive solutions to all employment law and human resources needs.

Having previously been an in-house employment attorney for both a large international company as well as a Silicon Valley technology company, Ms. Pener brings her skilled, business-savvy, and strategic advice and counsel to employers on the following employment law issues: wage-and-hour law, leaves of absence and disabilities, employee management, discipline, and terminations, reductions in force, and discrimination and harassment complaints.

Ms. Pener regularly supports executives and human resource professionals in their desire to create preventative strategies in all areas of employment law by drafting Handbooks, policies, and procedure manuals, and providing practical advice on various employee situations.

Ms. Pener is also an experienced workplace investigator and litigator. She has extensive litigation (including trial) and agency complaint experience in front of the DOL, DLSE, EDD, EEOC, DFEH, OLSE and other state and federal administrative agencies.

Ms. Pener received her J.D. from University of California at Davis in 2001, and her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where she double majored in Political Science and Women’s Studies, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She is admitted to practice in California, Missouri and Kansas.

She gives back to the community through volunteer and pro bono work mainly through the Jewish Federation of San Francisco and served as an adjunct professor at UC Hastings College of the Law and Golden Gate University Law School during 2009-2010.
